Student Success Statement

“Everyone is the architect of their own learning.”
Claudius

This statement states how your learning only depends upon yourself because if you don’t try to make it right nobody else will. Everything is at your own will if you’re not going to risk it the chances are low because as stated before nobody else will do it for you. Everything we do it’s because we make our own actions, don’t just sit there expecting that somebody will come and just do it for you; you have to be willing in putting some effort into your life if you want to succeed.

Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement

“Always do right.”
Mark Twain

This statement means that to always feel good you have to do the right things. For example in school if you want to graduate always do right, respect your teachers, peers, do work, and all the things your told to do so; in order to feel good when graduation day comes. When you do the right things it becomes a habit and you’ll eventually do the right things, and you won’t feel bad about yourself. You’re the owner of your actions, you know from right and wrong, always choose the right.

“Nobody ever did, or ever will, escape the consequences of his choices.”
~Albert A. Montapert

This statement portrays how the decisions you make, they will never fade away.  When you choose the wrong sooner or later you will pay for your consequences. It may take forever for you to pay what you have done or sooner than you’ll think so. It’s better to always choose the right because you never know when something bad is going to happen.

Summary/ Reflection

Summary/Reflection:

Jenna huff is a high school student who won the extreme “Sportsmanship” award. She was racing against Deb, it was there last mile and deb was in front of her and Jenna wanted to pass her: but all of a sudden she saw that deb stopped running because she got a pain in her stomach. Jenna had the chance to win the race but she didn't she stopped and helped Deb. Jenna grabbed Debs hand and they both started to jog together, Jenna made sure that Deb would finish the line before her. I believe Jenna did the right thing because not everybody does what she did, I agree that they gave her the sportsmanship award because she deserves it she didn't cared about winning all she wanted was to help Deb and she did. That shows a lot from her character, I admire what Jenna did because not everyone can do what she did.

“Choosing the right is always the right thing to do.”
Alex Linares

This statement conveys how choosing the right things will always be right no matter if you think it’s wrong.  There are many things that we have to accomplish every day, for example we have to go to school, participate, communicate and try our best. Sometimes it’s hard to make a decision because you don’t know whether it’s the right thing to do or not, always follow your heart you’ll know if it is the right or wrong thing to do. An example of choosing the right would be going to school and doing what is expected because even though it’s a long journey at the end you won’t regret it. Choosing and doing the right things will bring happiness to your life because you will always feel positive, honest about yourself. You know from wrong and right learn to make wise decisions.

“It’s better to be alone than to be in bad company.”
ANON

This statement portrays how sometimes it’s better to be alone than to be with people who choose the wrong. Sometimes we are with people simply because we don’t want to feel lonely and sometimes that company is eventually bad because even though if you consider them as your “Friends” probably they don’t and they are just making you choose the wrong. There are many cases where it’s better to alone than to be surrounded with people that don’t support or wants the best for you. We should be careful with the people we choose because many people that they say they consider you as a “Friend” all they simply want is to everything go bad for you.

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens

7 Habits of Highly
                      Successful Teens

Habit 7

Part 2

Habit 7: Sharpen the saw

3)         Heart: Always do what is right so your heart, your conscience, will feel peaceful. When you do wrong, your conscience will prick you and create regretful sensations within your heart. When you do what you honestly feel, you won’t have any regrets. Your heart is your internal compass—it gives you directions, even true north, your personal compass, your heart, will point you in the true north, the exact directions you need to trod.

4)         Soul: Study scriptures and other sacred literature daily. In other words, feed your spirit because you need spiritual food just like your physical body needs temporal food to survive. Pondering, meditating, and reflecting are excellent Soul-sharpening activities. Try writing your thoughts, feelings, aspirations, concerns, and decisions in a diary or journal. Writing helps you focus and make good decisions.

Get into the habit of daily improving your body (Physical fitness), your mind, your heart, and your soul.

Reflection

Reflection

I believe this example of loyalty and sportsmanship is just amazing because not only does it teach other people to be loyal but there’s a deep meaning to it. Every time you do something right you will always feel good about yourself no matter what. It is always better to do the right things than regret later in life. Many times in life we take the easy ways instead of thinking of the further consequences that will harm us. People that show loyalty are “super stars” because we learn a lot from them as a human being. Always be honest to yourself.

Successful Students 10

Successful Students
10

10. Successful students are good time managers. Successful students do not procrastinate. They have learned that time control is life control and have consciously chosen to be in control of their life.

An elemental truth: you will either control time or be controlled by it! It’s your choice: you can lead or be led, establish control or relinquish control, steer your own course or follow others. Failure to take control of their own time is probably the no. 1 study skills problem for college students. It ultimately causes many students to become non students! Procrastinators are good excuse-makers. Don’t make academic harder on yourself than it has to be. Stop procrastinating. And wait until tomorrow to do it!

The 10 items listed above are paraphrased from an article by Larry M Ludewing called Then Commandments for Effective Study Skills which appeared in The Teaching Professor. December, 1992.

“It is our duty to concentrate all our influence to make popular that which is sound and good, and (to make) unpopular that which is unsound (and not good).”
                                                                                              Joseph smith

This statement means that it’s our duty as a human being to keep our name clean and to always choose the right. For example in school it is our duty to make our parents proud and to have a better future than they did. We have to learn to make wise decisions and not because something looks popular is always right.  we should influence other people to always choose the right and never do bad things. Always follow your heart, because you’ll know if it’s right or bad.

“The time is always right to do what is right.”

Martin Luther King, Jr.

This statement means that it doesn't matter the time it is to do something right. For example if you have to turn in homework the next day and you totally forgot about it, doing it will be better than not doing it at all. Time is valuable and you have to learn to appreciate it in order to always do the right things. There are a lot of things that we do during the day but do we really ask ourselves, is it really important what I'm doing? sometimes we spend doing things that they aren't important whatsoever but we still do them because we don't appreciate the time. Always doing good things at the right time is choosing the right.

“I know only that what is moral is what you feel good after and what is immoral is what you feel bad after”
Ernest Hemingway

Pay attention to what’s right and what’s wrong.

This statement means that when you act well there is no regret whatsoever but when you sin you will feel bad and regret it after and there will not be a way back but to start choosing the right things and feel good about it after. You have to learn to differentiate from good and bad things. Always listen to your heart you’ll know if it’s the right thing to do or not. When you do good you feel good always choose the right.

“There is no set path, just follow your heart.”

Anon
I believe this statement means that in life there are no limits of doing what you really love. Perhaps you may not know the answer, but listening carefully what t your heart is trying to tell you will know if you did the right thing or not. You will have that feeling of feeling good or bad about it. Always choose the right!
